Ashraf M. Awaad

Founder & President, Sdoogle

Ashraf, received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in electronics engineering from the University of Al Mansoura at Mansoura - Egypt. He is currently pursuing his master degree on telecommunication engineering at the Sudan University. Ashraf's research interests include search engines, information enabling for cellular networks, and internet money sources and online business.

He founded Sdoogle Inc. in 2007, Ashraf continues to develop the project and take responsibility for day-to-day operations.
Experience

Ashraf currently certified as Microsoft MCSE, MCSA, Cisco CCNA, Linux LPI, Sun Solaris SCSA, Comptia A+ Net+. Ashraf worked on diversity of systems and platforms, he started his career as network engineer in ICC, on 1998 he joined the IT team at GNPOC where he had the opportunity to work on windows servers, oracle servers, unix enterprise platform, and WAN connectivity with Cisco appliances.

On 2003, Ashraf started seriously practicing management techniques and learn on project management skills. He developed many planning skills utilizing ITIL, Cobit, and IT QMS best practice. He is currently preparing to get certified on project management PMP from PMI.

  • Working with enterprise-level, network equipment consisting of over 100 routers, switches, PIX firewall, VPN concentrators, servers, and other high-end hardware. Individual and team projects have included:
  • Installation, configuration, administration, and design of Windows 2000 domains in an enterprise, network environment comprised of over 40 servers spread over sixteen, separate networks. Specific tasks include: Configure Active Directory and DNS services, Establish multi-domain connectivity and trust, Back & recovery, Security (IPSEC, NAT), Configure Exchange 2000 for Enterprise mailing, tune and maintain Servers for optimized operation.
  • Implementation and configuration of Cisco 2500/2600 and 3600, and Catalyst 1900/5000 Series routers/switches from scratch in an enterprise network compromise of 16 separate, virtual locations with over 40 routers and switches in total. Tasks included: console and remote configuration of Ethernet/Serial interfaces, RIP/IGRP routing, access lists, PVC, DLCI, Frame Relay, PPP/CHAP authentication, Telnet sessions, and password recovery.
  • Installation, configuration, and administration of Solaris 8, and Linux operating system on LAN servers. Senior Hardware Engineer/IT Facilities Management Executive

  • Responsible for a team of network Engineers that administrated a complex enterprise network consisting of over 20 mission critical Compaq 1800/7000 series Clustered servers, 2 Sun Servers, 9 RAID Systems, Arc Serve Backup, over 30 Cisco switches/routers, 6 WAN Links, 1600 Km Fiber optic cable, 8 remote sites, 20 Network printers, and 1000 users.
  • Continuous implement, test, deploy, and configure security procedures to ensure smooth company operation and protection of network disasters.
  • General duties included project/task management, scheduling, network documentation, network baseline analysis and reporting, technical training, and 3rd level support on mission critical technical issues.
  • Additional duties included installation and configuration of servers, routers, and switches, network administration including backups, user administration, directory administration, and system monitoring including network traffic, diagnose network bottlenecks, remotely access servers/workstations for troubleshooting, and to perform monthly maintenance metrics.

  • Part of a team of network experts responsible for 2nd level escalation support to over 10 onsite network administrators that supported a 24/7 mission critical enterprise network comprised of over 100 enterprise level servers and over 1000 users over 20 locations throughout the country.
